BSQ News - Client Avoids Custody in Child Sexual Communication Prosecution

Following a prosecution in the Crown Court, a recent BSQ private client has received a suspended sentence imposed having pleaded guilty to charges of downloading indecent images and the offence of sexual communication with a child.

BSQ client J was identified by police after they received intelligence from an undercover operative on a social media chatroom that J was had initiated sexual contact with a user posing as a child. BSQ has dealt with many similar cases recently. Prosecutions based on intelligence received from both undercover officers and self-styled paedophile vigilantes are now increasingly common. Evidence from these sources are admissible in a criminal prosecution for the offence of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child even though the other party concerned is an adult posing as a child.

Notwithstanding the seriousness of these allegations BSQ were able to persuade the Crown Court to impose a suspended sentence order for J.
