BSQ News – Indecent Images Acquittal

Another notable success for BSQ’s Private criminal defence department.

BSQ partner Roger Sahota was instructed to represent J a prominent businessman accused of intentionally downloading illegal images from peer-to-peer networking sites.

J was initially represented by another firm of solicitors but dispensed with their services to seek specialist advice from BSQ. His case was listed for trial in the Crown Court.

BSQ made representations to the CPS seeking a discontinuance of the case on the basis that the evidence did not clearly prove that any criminal intent on the part of our client who had amassed a large collection of material that had been mass downloaded from the Internet.

After several months of pre-trial correspondence, The CPS were persuaded to offer no evidence in the case and not guilty verdicts formally recorded.

BSQ’s client retains his good character.
